Mr. Jacques Swanepoel
CEU Contributior: Medical Orthotics & Prostethics
Mr. Jacques Swanepoel is currently the Head of Division: Medical Orthotics & Prosthetics at the Tshwane University of Technology where
the only academic program of its kind is presented in South Africa. He hold several academic qualifications from initially
qualifying in the arts with majors in education and psychology. Being an educationalist his interest in paediatrics was
inspired while working as Medical Orthotist & Prosthetist in public service with prominent neurology and orthopaedic
specialists. This interest has grown to his current focus for the last ten years in what he still practices on today.
His ongoing research in paediatrics affected by positioning and the effects in neurology and pulmonology as in Cerebral
Palsy and other neurological cases has been rewarded with being the first full time masters degree candidate in South Africa.
Jacques serves on numerous professional bodies and committees covering a range of disciplines in rehabilitation both nationally and internationally.
Apart from work his hobbies include golf, fly-fishing and reading.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jacques Swanepoel for his CEU contribution to eCPD.
