Living with Mental Illness
If someone you know develops the symptoms of a mental illness, it is important to get it diagnosed and to start treatment as soon as possible. Most people with mental illness can lead produc-tive and fulfilling lives. Here are a few tips to help them cope.

    CEU Editor Focus

    Prof M. Roy Jobson Contribution Editor: Ethics and the Law

    Roy is presently head of the Division of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Rhodes University, Grahamstown and Chairperson of the Rhodes University Ethical Standards Committee. He was previously teaching in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Medunsa and is a former member of the Medicines Control Council (MCC), former Chairperson of the MCC's Pharmacovigilance Committee and a former member of the MCC's Clinical Trials Committee. He was also a previous contributor to the CPD component of the SA Family Practice journal.

    We would like to take this opportunity to welcome back Prof M. Roy Jobson and thank him for his CEU contribution to eCPD.

    Course:

    Certificate in Integrative Medicine 2011
    The Certificate course in Integrative Medicine is a new and exciting course of study for doctors wishing to develop their knowledge in the field of Integrative Medicine. The course is 1-year, CPD accredited programme provided by web-based, distance education with a 2-3 day introductory contact session in January. Students must be registered as medical practitioners with the HPCSA (or equivalent in another country), computer literate and proficient in English at an academic level.     CEU values

    You will note that all new activities on eCPD from July 2010 will carry higher CEU values, at the request of the HPCSA. This means that more credits will be deducted from your account when you claim your CEU's, but on the positive side you will be able to earn more CEU's for the same amount of work.
